Newly reelected Church of Central African Presbytery (CCAP) of Livingstonia Synod General Secretary Reverend Levi Nyondo has said he will fight against the just passed Customary Land Bill during his third term of office.

Nyondo was reelected on Saturday in a controversial elections held at the Synod’s headquarters in Embangweni.

He won with 206 votes against Rev. Timothy Nyasulu’ s 109 votes.

Speaking after being declared winner, Nyondo said he will continue providing check and balances to the current leadership under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

Nyondo openly denounced the just passed Customary Land Bill, saying bill is not acceptable in Malawi and Mutharika should not approve the Bill.

He said the Bill if approved many Malawians especially those in the Village will lose the land inherited from their ancestors.

Nyondo is a fierce critic of the government and reports indicates that the DPP administration was de-campaigning him.
