MCP squabbles continue: District Chairmen say Chakwera is worst leader

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) suspended District Chairmen have described the Party President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera as the worst leader the Party have ever had.

The suspended district Chairmen led by Chatinkha Chizanja Nkhoma said this on Monday when they were reacting to the court decision to dismiss the case regarding a call for the Party to have a convention within a period of two-months.

Chatinkha Chizanja Nkhoma said the district Chairmen will not rest and that they have launched a complaint to the Supreme Court for the Party to have a convention within two-months.

Concurring with Chatinkha, Chairmanfor Dedza Lakeshore district, Lackson Chimangeni Khamalatha, said there is need for Chakwera resign and that Tembo should take over his seat.

“We are told that the chairmen who voted Chakwera during the convention are old and not fit then we are saying that Chakwera was also illegally voted into the office, we are therefore asking Chakwera to give back the position to Tembo so that we can start afresh; said Khamalatha.

Meanwhile the Party is yet to respond on the matter.
