Leadership squabbles in the main Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has taken a new twist with recent reports indicating that the Party has expelled Member of Parliament for Salima Central Felix Jumbe for allegedly bringing confusion in the Party.

This was agreed during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Wednesday in the capital Lilongwe chaired by the Party President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

According to reports, Jumbe has been expelled alongside Chatinkha Chidzanja Nkhoma, Azam Mwale and former chairman for southern region Denis Nathumba.
The Party has also suspended party spokesperson Jessi Kabwila and lawmaker Joseph Njobvuyalema pending disciplinary hearing.

Chatinkha Chidzanja Nkhoma together with 12 District Chairmen have recently made headlines both on radio and social media, calling for emergency convention describing Chakwera as the worst leader the Party has ever hard.

Nkhoma went further by taking the Party to court.

The whole squabbles in MCP started when Chakwera made some changes in the Party’s NEC executive which saw Jumbe being demoted.

Meanwhile Jumbe is yet to respond to his firing from the Party.
