Expelled Malawi Congress Party (MCP) member Chatinkha Chidzanja Nkhoma has said she is receiving death threats from unknown people for being critical of the Party’s President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
Chatinkha has of late been all over town criticizing Chakwera of being nepotistic and undemocratic
The disagreement in MCP reached its climax on Wednesday when the politibulo resolved to fire Chatinkha, Azam Mwale, Denis Nathumba and Member of Parliament for Salima Central Felix Jumbe accusing them of bringing confusion in the Party but Chatinkha quashed her firing.
Following the news, Chatinkha is said to have been receiving death threats from Chakwera’s supporters.
Chatinkha confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the local media house in the country (Zodiak Broadcasting Station).
But he party’s second deputy secretary Eisenhower Mkaka has quashed off Chatinkha’s claims, saying the Party has nothing to do with her.
Meanwhile the High court in Lilongwe has reinstated the case in which disgruntled MCP officials want the Party to hold convention within two-months.
