Rumphi East Member of Parliament who is also Third Vice President for opposition People’s Party (PP) for the North Kamlepo Kalua has vowed to continue pressuring President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to fire seven Cabinet Ministers implicated in MK236 billion Cashage scandal.
Kalua said this on Monday after appearing before Public Account Committee (PAC) of Parliament for discipline.
The outspoken MP was being accused of bringing the committee to disrepute for publicly challenging the President that he has the names of the seven rotten Cabinet Ministers.
Kalua’s remarks did not go down well with his Chair Alekeni Menyani and the committee wanted him out but he survived the impeachment.
Speaking to the press, kalua said he cannot be silenced by anyone and he still maintains that the seven Cabinet Minister implicated in the scam should be fired.
“I speak on behalf of the people of Rumphi East and am a bonafide member of parliament,” Kamlepo was quoted as saying.
On his part, Menyani said Kamlepo has just been disciplined.
Kamlepo made headlines when he challenged Mutharika to release the names of the rotten cabinet Ministers or resign as a President.
