The Dedza First Grade Magistrate Court has sentenced Victor Ng’omba to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour for allegedly inserting a bottle into his wife’s private parts.

Ng’omba was arrested earlier this month for inserting a bottle into his wife’s private parts after accusing her of cheating on him and he was charged with a case of causing grievous bodily harm.

It is said that the wife fainted and she was taken to Dedza District Hospital for treatment.

Dedza Police Spokesperson Constable Cassim Manda told the press that Ng’omba was apprehended by the Police after some community members alerted them.

Appearing before first grade magistrate Enita Banda, Ng’omba pleaded guilty to the charges leveled against him and he pleaded for lenience.

But Ng’omba’s plea was rejected by the state, saying he deserve a stiffer punishment to deter others would be offenders.

Banda agreed with the state and sentenced Ng’omba to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour.

Ng’omba hails from Kadewere village Traditional Authority Kachindamoto in Dedza.
