Two more people have been confirmed dead in the accident that happened at Shoprite roundabout over the weekend in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Blantyre Police Spokesperson Elizabeth Divala confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Divala, the two died at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) Monday where they were receiving treatment.

She said the accident involved a lorry carrying over 40 members of choir from Mulanje travelling to Blantyre Synod to attend a choir festival.

Divala said the driver failed to control the vehicle thereby hitting another vehicle and overturned in the process. A woman died on the spot.

Meanwhile the driver of the vehicle is still in Police custody.
