FND calls for the resignation of ACB boss Lucas Kondowe

Forum for National Development (FND), a non-governmental organization has called for the immediate resignation of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director Lucas Kondowe accusing him of being incompetent and acting based on political influence.

Speaking in an interview with the press on Wednesday in Lilongwe, FND Executive Director Fryson Chodzi expressed concern on how Kondowe is handling national issues.

Chodzi cited the way how Kondowe handled the issue with the two deputy speakers in the National Assembly who were being accused of pocketing house allowances for leaving in their own houses.

He also accused Kondowe of failing to release the names of individuals and companies named in a K236 billion cashgate audit report are prosecuted.

Chodzi has since given Kondowe 21 days to act on the audit report or step down.

Meanwhile Kondowe is yet to respond to the call.
