Former Peoples Party (PP) spokesperson Kenneth Msonda who resigned from PP two weeks ago has left the country to New York, United States of America to meet President Mutharika and other Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) officials.

The development comes barely days after reports were all over in the social media indicating that Msonda pocketed MK12 million from Mutharika to dump PP and fight Rumphi East Member of Parliament Kamlepo Kalua who is regarded as threat to the ruling Party.

According to information that FaceofMalawi have, the meeting between Mutharika and Msonda is aimed at planning on how they can use him to fight PP and its leadership.

According to pictures circulating on the social media, Msonda boarded Ethiopian Airways plane under economy class, seat number 13J, ticket number 0712115681513 and he left the country through Chileka International Airport on Sunday.

Msonda will connect to JFK from Bole International airport through Europe.

According to the statement, the ruling DPP has funded Msonda’s trip.

It is said that the trip was facilitated by Minister of Finance and Economic Development Goodall Gondwe who is also DPP Vice President for the North during a meeting held recently before dumping the Party.

Gondwe confirmed of the meeting in an interview with one of the local daily papers but Msonda denied the move.

Msonda’s resignation from PP is still attracting mixed reactions from the general public considering the fact that he was too royal to Joyce Banda.
