It is now clear that the strong desire for former cabinet minister Sidik Mia in Malawi Congress Party (MCP) seems to be hatched as some officials and women have come in public for Mia to join the party.

According to source, MCP southern region chairman Peter Simbi welcomed Mia and sat next to each other at a function where Chikhwawa south MP Elias Karim, was launching a K3.5 million sports trophy.

At the function, Women in MCP attires were dancing while singing for Mia, the act that showed respect as Mia nodding and waving to them.

In an interview, Mia said that he is free to go back into politics, as he came out of it before with whole skin.

“I am free to go back to politics,” he said.

Mia added that he has listened to calls for him to join MCP and return to frontline politics, saying he will take a well measured consideration.

“I have listened to the calls but I will consider them. It is my passion to serve the people and if returning to frontline politics will be serving the people better, that will be considered,” he said.

In an interview, Deputy Secretary General of the MCP Eisenhower Mkaka told local radio on Sunday that Mia was free to join the MCP.

Other Reports show that  MCP president Lazarus Chakwera already approached Mia to lure him into the party in readiness for 2019 polls.
