A woman in NKhotakota District Hospital has given birth to conjoined twins joined at the abdomen.
District Health Officer, Dr. Sosten Lankhulani of the development in an interview with one of the privately owned radio, Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).
According to Lankhulani, the twins were born in the early hours of Thursday.
He said twins have since been referred to Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe for further examination and possible separation.
The twins are said to have born through caesarean section.
