President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on Friday will hold a press conference on Malawi government’s engagements at the 2016 United Nations General Assembly and other related issues of national importance.
The announcement comes barely hours after rumours were all over the social media that Mutharika has secretly flown back to USA to seek medical attention.
In a statement released on Tuesday made available to faceofmalawi, Presidential Press Officer Mgeme Kalilani said the press shall start at exactly 2 pm at Kamuzu Palace.
Mutharika arrived in the country on Sunday through Kamuzu international Airport (KIA) in the capital Lilongwe with one left hand functioning.
The development escalated speculations that Mutharika is not fine and human right activists in the country faulted government for lying to Malawians on President’s health.
Others even went further calling for Mutharika’s resignations citing health grounds.
