President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has expressed shock over the demise of renowned Evangelist Shadreck Wame who is said to have been murdered gruesomely last night at his home in Salima.

Evangelist Wame is said to have been murder by his houseboy who is currently being hunted by the Police in Salima.

Writing on his official facebook page, President Mutharika said no living Malawian can tell any story about evangelism without factoring in Wame’s name in the narrative.

“Evangelist Wame has for several decades ministered all across the country and beyond with a form of dedication never seen before. No living Malawian can tell any story about evangelism without factoring in Wame’s name in the narrative.

“Gertrude and I are deeply saddened with his death and we hope law enforcement agencies will work round the clock to establish what really happened and bring those responsible to book,” said Mutharika.

He added: “To the family, CCAP church where he was a communicant member and the whole Christian community we send our deepest condolences.

“May God Almighty grant him all his grace and hope so that Reverend Wame’s efforts during his ministry becomes a lesson we should all learn from.”

Meanwhile police have launched a manhunt for the houseboy suspected to have stolen maize and killed Evangelist Wame.
