Following the phasing out of the Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examination, the Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) will be restructuring examination format for Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) starting from 2019.

This has been disclosed in a press statement released on October 27, 2016 signed by MANEB Public Relations Officer Simeon Maganga made available to FaceofMalawi.

According to Maganga, the 2019 MSCE examination will cover work from Form One to Form Four.

He said the restructuring process will be taken to ensure that the quality and standards of MSCE examination papers are maintained.

“The examinations syllabus committees will meet soon to develop new MSCE tables of test specification based on both the junior and Senior Secondary syllabuses.

“The tables of test specification will into consideration topics, subtopics and their related learning outcomes from both the Junior and Senior Secondary syllabuses,” reads in part the statement.

He said samples of MSCE papers developed from the new MSCE tables of test specification will be sent to all Secondary schools in January 2018.
