A catholic priest identified as Father Cosmas Maleka of Dedza diocese died Tuesday after being involved in a motorcycle accident.
Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofMalawi.
A statement from ECM signed by its secretary general Fr Henry Saindi said the accident happened at Dzoole in Ntcheu after a head on collision with a minibus which was overtaking other vehicles.
According to the statement, Father Maleka was confirmed dead upon arrival at by Ntcheu District Hospital.
Burial Mass will be on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Bembeke Cathedral starting from 10.00 am.
Ordained a priest at Mtakataka in 2OO8, Father Maleka hailed from Chipoka Parish.
Until his death, Father Maleka was serving as Curate at Nzama Parish.
