Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) says it will involve the police, city councils and journalists in the exercise of confiscating frozy drinks in all market places.
The development comes amid reports that Malawians especially business people are still selling frozy despite the ban.
MBS banned the importation and sale of Frozy, a fizzy drink manufactured in Mozambique, for failing to meet required quality standards.
Speaking in an interview on Thursday, MBS Director General Davlin Chokazinga said the bureau will start clearing the drinks in all shops from next week.
When asked on the reports that Mozambican company manufacturing frozy has reacted to the ban, arguing that body did not consult the company on the matter, Chokazinga said he is not aware of the reports.
He said the Bureau will not reverse its decision on the ban until of the issues are resolved.
