President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has expressed shock with the untimely death of Traditional Authority Nsamala of Balaka District.

Chief Nsamala died on Wednesday.

Writing on his official facebook page, Mutharika said the country has lost chief who wholeheartedly dedicated his life to serving his subjects with diligence, honesty and guided purpose.

“The few times I met him showed me a man with leadership acumen and values needed to transform any society. No wonder his area boasts of good working relationship between traditional leaders, subjects, development partners and government.

“We will miss his services to the people of his area in particular and Malawi in general,” reads in part the statement.

Late Nsamala will be laid to rest on Friday at his home village in Balaka.
