Kanengo Police on 11th November 2016, netted three dangerous criminals in Area 49, who have been on the wanted list for a myriad of heinous crimes including murder and robbery with violence.

The suspects, Dan Phiri (44), Gregory Chiwatu (32) and Reuben Mbewe (30), were cornered within the confines of their homes after police launched a manhunt on the stolen hardware assorted items valued MK1.5 million, at a shop in Kanengo.

However the first and second accused persons, have also been on the run for various other felonious offences that they committed in Lilongwe, Mchinji, Kasungu, and Blantyre.

According to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), after concluding the charges at Kanengo, the culprits will be handed over to the said stations for further prosecution of their previous cases.

The suspected criminals, Dan Phiri, hails from Ndalamira village, Traditional Authority Ganya, in Ntcheu district, Gregory Chiwatu from Nthumbo village, Traditional Authority Chilowamatambe, in Kasungu district, Reuben Mbewe from Chateka village, Traditional Authority Khongoni in Lilongwe district.
