Former People’s Party (PP) Spokesperson and Administrative Secretary Ken Msonda has come out of his cocoon to defend his move to join the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), saying God spoke to him during his sabbatical leave.

Msonda resigned from PP two months and took a sabbatical leave to review his political career and reflect on his spiritual life.

On Sunday, Msonda bounced back to frontline politics and joined the ruling DPP attracting strong criticism from all corners with others describing him as a fortune seeker.

But reacting to these accusations, Msonda said his has joined DPP to help President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika in developing the country.

Msonda said he came up with the decision to join DPP after consulting his spiritual father and advise from God during the sabbatical leave.

When asked to explain what God told him, Msonda said the message was about him and God and it is not necessary to reveal the message to the masses.
