It rained and poured heavily, but that was not enough to stop the Amazing Joy Kameza Church of Africa Presbyterian (C.A.P) Choir from dishing out their gospel vibes at Ayoba Compound Hall in Machinjiri area 1 in Blantyre on Sunday afternoon.

From the moment the giant Master of Ceremony (MC) George Misinde made the introductory remarks, the show promised to be fun filled to the people who came to dance for the Lord.img_0376

The kings and queens of the day, the Amazing Joy C.A.P Choir appeared on stage in a courageous attire as they performed their songs Anzanga Tiyeni, Ndi Yesu with energy.

They also got standing ovations from all corners of the hall when they detonated their hit ‘Goliati’ which sent the gospel enthusiasts into cheers while others could not resist but dance and sing along to the lyrics.

Commenting on the show, Youth and music director for the Amazing Joy CAP choir Lyson Nyimba hailed the mammoth fans for their support and described the show as a packet of encouragement to their musical ministry.

“Today’s gospel show is a milestone in the history of preaching the Good News to the world, and we owe this to God who called us to this musical ministry for the gift of life and talent. We are happy to inform our fans that so soon we will be shooting the debut DVD.

“Many thanks to everyone who patronized the show including the invited artists the Ndirande Anglican Voices, the Great Angels Choir among others, not forgetting the Lilongwe based band the Placards that added the entertainment flavour, they must feel it in their hearts that they are so special to us,” explained Nyimba.

One of the fans Mwawi Mwenda Kanjombe said the gospel show was very colourful and well organized as all the artists on the day showcased their skills.

“The show was extremely entertaining, and I like the performances by the Amazing Joy CAP Choir, the Great Angels Choir, Ndirande Anglican Voices, Limbani Simenti and others. The Lilongwe based band also did not disappoint us with the sound equipment, they did a wonderful job and the instruments were good for the hungry ears,” said Kanjombe.

The stage was also decorated by the supporting artists such as Masika Last Message choir, Kachere C.O.C Melodies, Mbalame Zamingoli choir, Good Samaritan Sign Language choir, Dyson Phiri, James Kadengu, Thanthwe CCAP Madalitso choir, stand-up comedian Aunt Gate real name Kenwood Sambalika who mesmerized the fans with bunches of jokes.

Remaining to wrap up the show were the Ndirande Anglican Voices, Limbani Simenti and the Great Angels Choir that pulled people to the dance floor.
Led by Dennis Kalimbe, the Ndirande Anglican Voices catapulted people into the memory lane when they performed Ndibwelera song live on stage. Imbani Aleluyah, Wakutuma Ndani? were also on the playlist.

While dancing and more fun continued, the man of the moment Limbani Simenti shone the stage with his Gwada Upemphere, Mulowelelepo tracks. And the Great Angels Choir also known as the people’s choir filled the entire hall with the dancing mood as the audiences were busy sampling Opanda Dipo, Tadikira, Samadziwa Kanthu just to mention but a few.

The Amazing Joy CAP Choir has a 10-track album called Anzanga Tiyeni which was produced at Hil-Tek Records by Frank Allan, and the album features songs like Goliati, Sankhani Yesu, Ndi Yesu, Thamanda, Ulendo, Anzanga Tiyeni, Uthenga, Ndithokoza, Ndagwada Ine, Ambuye Taonani.
