Angry Villagers in Mchinji have gone on rampage baying for the blood of a Woman suspected of stealing a four-day-old baby from Mchinji District Hospital.
The woman identified as Chrissy Banda was arrested on Thursday by Mchinji Police for being suspected of stealing a baby belonging to Lucia Clement 21 after receiving a tip from well-wishers.
According to an eyewitness who rushed to the scene said, Police took the suspect to Mchinji Magistrate Court to mark the commencement of the case today.
As the case was about to start, angry villagers stormed the court premises demanding for the immediate release of the suspect so that they can administer Justice by themselves on her.
But Police refused to release the suspect from the court dock, attracting a shout from the angry villagers with others chanting anti-police songs.
Meanwhile tension is still high at the court.
