Information reaching faceofMalawi indicates that Parliament will reconvene in the capital Lilongwe from February 6, 2017 to March 2 for the mid-term budget review.

Speaker of the National Assembly Richard Msowoya confirmed of the development in a statement made available to FaceofMalawi.

According to Msowoya, the meeting will for four weeks.

“All Cabinet Ministers, deputy ministers and honourable members if parliament are summoned to attend the metting ar the time and place indicated until adjournment sine die and herein fail not,” a statement issued by the Speaker ,” reads in part the statement.

During the four weeks, one of the issues this is expected to dominate the proceedings is the Malawi-Zambia maize scam involving ADMARC and Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Dr. George Chaponda.

Apart from that, MPs are expected to deliberate on bills and reports from various committees of the house.
