A 12 year old Billy Nguliba has committed a suicide in Machinga after his mum found out he had stolen money amounting to K10.000.
Machinga spokesperson revealed that on 25 January the mother to the victim suspected Billy to have stolen the money and followed him to the video show where she only recovered K7.000 out of the said amount K10.000.
Billy told the mother that his friend took the remaining K3.000
The boy went missing the following day and was found in the evening hanging dead in his room.
Later he was pronounced dead and postmortem results from Machinga health care revealed the death was due to strangulation.
Speaking on the matter, Brian Ndau who is a social worker said cases of this kind are caused because of how parents treat their children.
He added such cases are inspired by elder people since they think committing a suicide is the way to solve their problems.
