Executive Director for Gender Coordination Network (NGO-GCN) Emma Kaliya says their organization is happy as Madam Gertrude Muntharika has been appointed as president of African First Ladies Against HIV & AIDS, which she said the position is a passage to women to deal with issues affecting them in the country.
Madam Muntharika took the position last Tuesday from former first lady of Ghana who left the office following her husband`s lost in just ended election in Ghana.
In her speech, Kaliya said the position is a great advantage to women as they will have a better life since the first lady is at leading edge fighting against HIV & AIDS.
On the same issue, the National Organization of Nurses and Midwives (NONM) have appealed to her excellency to gather resources for the fight against HIV & AIDS.
