Three dead bodies have been recovered in Lingadzi river in Lilongwe following the floods that has hit the district on Thursday and Friday last week.
Detective Sub inspector Catherine Chilunga of Lingazi Police has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Chilunga, the three are among the people washed away by water as they were trying to rescue the twins saved by Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldiers with the help of helicopter.
One of the bodies recovered from the river has been buried right next to the shores of Ntandile.
The country’s Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima visited flood victims on Friday with an assurance that government will do everything to support them.
Chilima donated assorted relief items.
