The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has fired its Spokesperson Jessie Kabwila and lawmaker Joseph Njobvuyalema from the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
The two were on suspension for having a hand in the botched attack targeting the party’s headquarters in the capital Lilongwe where seven people were arrested.
MCP second deputy secretary general Eisenhower Mkaka confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Mkaka, the Party has also resolved to reinstate the two as Party members.
Reacting to the development, Njobvuyalema welcomed the Party’s decision, saying it is the prerogative of Chakwera to fire and appoint a member into the Party’s executive.
Meanwhile Kabwila is yet to respond to news.
