Thief shot dead for attempting to steal from the house of Budget Director

Police over the weekend shot dead a thief at the house of Budget Director in the Ministry of Finance Chauncy Simwaka.
According to information sourced by FaceofMalawi, the deceased together with his colleagues invaded the house of Simwaka with an ill motive but police reacted swiftly.
The armed police officers shot one of thieves to death.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the other thieves.
When contacted for comment National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera asked for more time to comment on the matter.
Simwaka was appointed Budget Director replacing Paul Mphwiyo who is currently answering a charge of money laundering.
