Information reaching faceofMalawi indicates that opposition Peoples Party (PP) Interim President Uladi Mussa has handed himself to the Anti-Corruption Bureau after it issued a warrant of arrest over his involvement in issuing passport and citizenships to some foreign nationals.

While admitting that he issued the passport, Mussa told reporters that he took the step in his capacity as home affairs minister.

He said he has handed himself over to the ACB to hear from the body the accusations that are being raised against him. He is being represented by lawyer Paul Maulidi.

According to an eyewitness, Mussa is under the escort of his wife, some people’s Party Officials and supporters who are clad in party colours.

Last week, ACB arrested former immigration Chief Hudson Mankhwala and another official over the same case and they are now on police bail.
