Enlighten Christian Gathering (ECG) church founder Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has donated maize worthy over 200 million to hunger stricken family in the country as part of the promise he made during his birthday celebrations.
On February 20, Prophet Bushiri who is currently based in South Africa celebrated his birthday with an announcement that he is sparing K200 million for relief maize distribution in the country.
Bushiri arrived in the country from South Africa on Wednesday afternoon through Kamuzu International Airport and he went straight to Ntcheu to fulfill the said promise.
Speaking to the press after the donation, Bushiri said he is aware of the challenges that some Malawians are passing through hence the donations.
“I am a Malawian and at one point in time I was faced with hunger thus why I thought it wise to share the little I have with my brothers and sisters,” said Bushiri.
Bushiri also urged some well-wishers in the country to share the little they have with some Malawians who are in need.
On his part, one of the beneficiaries only identified as Isaac James hailed the Bushiri for his timely donation.
Previously, Bushiri donated maize to hungry citizens across the country but he faced obstacles as ruling party operatives feared Major 1 is eying presidential seat in the 2019 elections and frustrated his efforts.
