Information sourced by faceofmalawi indicates that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has confiscated mobile phones from the then Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Dr. George Chaponda.
The seizure is in relation to the ongoing investigations into the Zambia maize-gate scandal.
ACB Public Relations Officer Egritta Ndala confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying investigators are analyzing incriminating evidence.
Ndala urged Malawians to be patient, saying investigations of such nature takes time to be concluded.
President Peter Mutharika fired Chaponda as Minister of Agriculture a day after the ACB swooped on over K166 million in different currencies during a search and seize at his house in Lilongwe.
Meanwhile Mutharika has appointed Aggrey Masi MP as Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
