The Malawi Police Service (MPS) is yet to take to court murder suspect of well-known preacher evangelist Shadreck Wame.
Wame, who was a darling of many Malawians who normally fell for his passionate sermons, was found dead in his house on October 28.
The Police arrested Limbani Rabson Maliro in November last year for allegedly having hand in Wame’s death in Thyolo.
Since then little has been done on the case despite President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika ordering the police to speed up the case.
Earlier this year, National Police spokesperson James Kadadzera, said the police are now ready with all the information which they will present in court.
“We have managed to gather all the evidence required for the charge of murder which we feel the suspect committed. The interrogations we have carried out give us confidence that the suspect has a case to answer. It is now up to the court to decide when we should appear before the court of law for the proceedings,” Kadadzera said.
Meanwhile Malawians are keenly waiting for the case with other proposing life sentence for the suspect.
