Well-known comedian Michael Usi, popularly known as Manganya has asked the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to abolish quota system used for selecting students to public Universities, saying the system is evil.

Usi who is also Deputy Country Director for ADRA said this in address aired on Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS), Times radio, MIJ fm radio and Joy radio.

In his address, Usi said quota system is not the best way of enrolling students in public universities, saying deceiving students are left out.

“Quota system is evil as it creates tribalism. Quota system is a national disaster and government should abolish it,” said Manganya.

Turning to the political scenes in the country, Usi blamed political leaders of creating a begging nation and went on to attack current administration for allocating more funding to State House than development initiatives. He also bemoaned mismanagement of public funds.

Usi has also appealed to all Political leaders in the country to put the interest of Malawians at heart.
