Form 2 girl arrested for concealing birth in Machinga

Police in Machinga have arrested a 17-year old secondary school girl for allegedly concealing birth of a child.
Police said the girl had been hiding the pregnancy from her parents and school administrators.
She later secretly gave birth to a baby boy, wrapped the baby in a piece of cloth and dumped it in a pit latrine.
Upon been discovered, the baby was removed from the pit latrine but it was already dead.
Currently, the girl is receiving treatment under Police watch, pending court appearance.
