Former opposition People’s Party (PP) spokesperson Ken Msonda has finally come out of his cocoon and confirmed that he will represent the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in Rumphi East Constituency come 2019.

Msonda said this in an interview with one of the local media house in the country, saying currently is in the constituency campaigning.

“I can confirm that I will represent the ruling DPP in Rumphi East Constituency and am currently in the constituency meeting with people. I can assure you that DPP will win this seat in 2019,” said Msonda.

Msonda also trashed the claims by some quarters, saying the ruling DPP hired him to fight Kamlepo Kalua who is the fierce critic of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and his administration.

“Kamlepo is the MP for the constituency and I respect him very much. For people to say that am being used by the ruling DPP to fight Kamlepo thus not true am just exercising my right as a Malawian,” said the highly charged Msonda.

Msonda dumped PP and joined the ruling DPP in a rally held earlier this year at Masintha ground in the capital Lilongwe.

His decision to leave the Party shocked many people because he was one of the Party’s royalists.

Others even went further speculating that President Mutharika offered him over MK12 million to dump PP and join the ruling DPP to help the Party in silencing Kempo Kalua who is member of Parliament for Rumphi East Constituency.
