Items believed to have been stolen from Zambian members of seventh day Adventist (SDA) have been recovered in Lilongwe Mtandile on Sunday with the suspect identified as Mike Justine.

Two laptops, a computer projector, an HD camera and two tablet phones were recovered on Tuesday in Mtandire, according to Lingadzi police spokesperson Foster Benjamin.

Benjamin stated that on Sunday night at around 9 o’clock, a Zambian pastor known as Mr Kapukuta Mulenga came to Malawi in the company of other believers in readiness for Easter prayers.

It was after a while that the visitors discovered that their items were out of their sight.

“They reported to Lingadzi police sub-unit station, prompting the criminal investigation department (CID) team to institute investigations.

Following a tip-off, the police raided the suspect`s house and recovered the stolen items,” Benjamin said.

The suspect is charged with breaking into a building and committing a felony therein which contravenes section 311 of the penal code and he is expected to appear in court soon.

Justine is from Kavalo village, Traditional Authority Chimutu in Lilongwe.
