Burial of former Malawi High Commissioner to Zambia, David Bandawe is underway in his home village in Dowa.
Bandawe died on Saturday morning at Kamuzu Central Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Spokesperson in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rejoice Shumba confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
Bandawe served in different government portfolios including Deputy Clerk of Parliament and Chief Elections Officer at the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec).
He is survived by a wife and five children.
