A pick-up driver is reported dead while several other passengers are in critical condition after a car he was driving collided with an Interline bus travelling from Chitipa to Karonga.

The accident happened this morning in Karonga at a place called Tenenthe.

An eyewitness who rushed to Karonga District Hospital confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to an eyewitness, the driver of the pick-up registration number MG 452 AF got stuck on his seat after the accident.

The eyewitness said plans are underway to transfer some of the casualties believed to be in critical condition to Mzuzu Central Hospital.
