President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika will on Friday officially open the 6th Meeting in the 46th Session of Parliament and the 2017/2018 Budget Meeting in the National Assembly in Lilongwe.

This has been disclosed in a press statement from the office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) made available to faceofmalawi.

Leader of the House, Kondwani Nankhumwa also confirmed of the development in a separate interview.

According to Nankhumwa, President Mutharika is expected to deliver a State of the Nation Address, popularly known as SONA.

Nankhumwa further said that during the meeting parliament is expected to debate on five bills.

He said the five bills are carried over from the mid-term budget meeting and they include Constitutional Amendment Bill, Public Audit Bill, Political Parties Bill and Disposal of Assets and Public Procurement Bill.
