Police in Neno are keeping in custody a 52year old Pastor for allegedly having sex with a 16year old girl who is also an imbecile.
Neno Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sergeant Raphael Kaliati confirmed of the arrest and identified the suspect as Juwao Antoniyo of United of God Church.
According to Kaliati, earlier this month the victim (name withheld) went to the maize mill with her sister and when coming back her sister branched somewhere to visit her friend who was sick leaving the complainant proceeding with the journey.
“Later the complainant stopped at the suspect’s house to ask for water to drink, whilst there the suspect told her to go into the house to drink water there, then the suspect followed the complainant inside and defiled her.
“After that, the victim reported this to her mother who later reported the matter to Ligowe police unit where they were issued with a report to access medical support,” reads the statement.
The medical report revealed that the girl was defiled and the police jumped in and arrested the suspect.
Antoniyo hails from Siyali village, Traditional Authority Chapananga in Chikwawa District.
