A suspected thief has been beaten near death by students at Malawi Assemblies of God University (MAGU) after being busted trying to steal laptops belonging to the students.
The incident happened on Wednesday night as the suspected thief was caught opening bags in one of the students’ room in search for laptops and other accessories.
Students at the University later took the law in their hands as they went ahead to punish him by mercilessly battering him until his whole body was covered with blood stains.
Reports indicate that this was not his first time to have gone on a mission to steal laptops at the school.
As of this time, the suspected thief is at Lilongwe Central hospital receiving medical treatment as he awaits to answer charges.
