President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on Sunday openly mocked Rumphi East Member of Parliament Kamlepo Kalua by asking him to abduct the seven rotten Cabinet Ministers implicated in K236 billion scandal.

Mutharika made the remarks during the elevation ceremony of Senior Chief Ngolongoliwa of Thyolo to Paramount Chief at Chonde in Mulanje.

In his speech, Mutharika said the fight against corruption in the country is not a one man’s show.

“I have waited to know the names of those seven Cabinet ministers. The person who said this should abduct them, tie them with an orange or green rope and leave them at Capital Hill Roundabout. Those seven Cabinet ministers do not exist,” said Mutharika.

The remarks attracted ululation from all people gathered at the ceremony and others were seen whispering to each other, saying the remarks were going directly to Kalua.

Kalua went missing last month and was found on Sunday May 7, 2017 at Kwacha Roundabout in the commercial capital Blantyre with both hands and legs tied with blue ropes.
