A police officer is reported dead while three others are battling for their lives at Salima District Hospital after the vehicle they were travelling overturned.
Salima Public Relations Officer Gift Chitonde confirmed of the accident in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).
According to Chitonde, the accident happened after the driver of the police vehicle failed to negotiate a corner and swerved off the road.
Chitonde said the police officers were on their way to provide security in the ongoing National Identification Programme being carried out by government.
