Police have advised people not to settle disputes by taking law into their hands following the death of two women who died after a fight over land in Dedza.
The two women have been identified as Kalementina Clemence Nazario, 40, from Chimkombero village and 30 year-old Helemence Mdyakamba from Mkhwamba village in Dedza.
According to Dedza police spokesperson, Edward Kabango, the two were killed by their three cousins after the five family members failed to agree on how to share a piece of land equally.
While quarreling, a fight broke up that so the first victim, Nazario stabbed on her chest and Mdyakamba sustained severe injuries.
Nazario died on the spot after being stabbed while Mdyakamba was taken to Kamuzu Central Hospital for treatment but unfortunately she also died the following day.
Doctors revealed that the two died of internal injuries.
The three suspects are Wombetsani Chipila, 49, Felix Chipila, 42, and Roneck Boniface, 27, all from Lunguzi village Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza in the district.
Charges against the three suspects are to follow soon.
