Former Vice President Khumbo Kachali has finally formed his own new party months after dumping opposition People’s Party (PP).
Kachali confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the party has since been registered.
“I can confirm that the party has been registered with Registrar of Political Parties and a certificate has been issued,” said Kachali.
“It is Freedom Party,” said Kachali.
Kachali dumped the then ruling People’s Party (PP) in December 2013 when Dr. Joyce Banda appointed Sosten Gwengwe as her running-mate in 2014.
The development did not please Kachali who reacted by endorsing President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika of DPP as the right candidate for the 2014 polls.
