President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed lawyer Tamanda Chokhotho as new Attorney General replacing Kalekeni Kaphale, faceofmalawi can reveal.
According to information at hand, Kaphale’s term of office has expired hence the appointment.
Sources from State House say the appointment of Chokhotho is with effect from July 1 2017.
Chokhotho once worked as the defence lawyer for former President Dr Bakili Muluzi in the ongoing 1.7billion corruption case.
