Attorney General Kalekeni Kaphale has come out of the cocoon to confirm that he has completed his three years contract.
On Thursday the social media was awashed with reports that President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has replaced Kaphale with lawyer Tamando Chokotho following the expiry of term of office.
Minister of Information and Communications Technology Nicholas Dausi quashed the claims, saying Kaphale is still executing his duties.
But Kaphale confirmed with the press that his term office has indeed expired.
“My three year contract expires today. It’s been great experience [to work as Attorney General] as the position is a hugely demanding one,” said Kaphale.
“However, I believe I did my very best and that is very, very important,” he added .
Meanwhile it is not known as to whether Kaphale’s contract will be renewed.
