Former Minister of Finance and Economic Development Ken Kandodo Banda, a relative to Malawi’s first President Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda has rejoined the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) after returning to frontline politics.
Kandodo was welcomed in MCP during a rally held at Kasungu organised by District Chairmen
“I’m going back home. I have seen the political pendulum swinging in MCP favor and my future political fortunes lie in having a political home in MCP,” said Kandodo.
However, the return of Kandodo in MCP has placed the current Member of Parliament for Kasungu Central Amon Nkhata in a fixed considering the fact that Kandodo is also expected to context as an MP for the constituency in 2019.
When contacted on the matter, Nkhata trashed the claims, saying the return of Kandodo will strengthen the party.
