35-year-old American pop star, Beyonce who is the wife of multi-millionaire hip hop mogul, Jay-Z, has finally unveiled the first official photo of the couple’s two new bundles of joy on Instagram on Thursday night.

The singer who also have a 5-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, confirmed the names of the two newest additions to the Carter family (a boy and girl) as she wrote: ‘Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today.’

So why did Beyoncé and Jay Z pick the names Rumi and Sir? It would seem the power couple of music have turned to religion and spiritual meaning for their new children.

It’s thought the idea of the name Rumi may of come from the fact poet Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi was named as one of the most popular poets in the US in 2014.

The Persian poet writes about joy and love and is also into meditation.

Rumi, according to nameberry.com is also a Japanese name that means “flow” and “beauty”.

Sir is a little more unusual but nothing is really a surprise when it comes to the bold Beyoncé and Jay Z.

The name is a way to address a man and is also a title given to knights.

Sir also has a connection with the name Rumi as the poet once used a quote: “Bring the pure wine of love and freedom. But sir, a tornado is coming. More wine, we’ll teach this storm A thing or two about whirling.”
