A police officer is reported while three others are battling for their lives after being hit by over speeding vehicle in Dowa.
Dowa Police Public Relations Officer Richard Kaponda confirmed of the accident in an interview with faceofmalawi reporter and identified the deceased as Brown Selemani.
According to Kaponda, the vehicle registration number BU 4897 was being driven by Clement Whiton who was heavily drunk.
It is said that the driver of the vehicle was overspeeding and in the process he ended up hit four police officers who were manning Dowa turn off. Selemani who hails from Kasungu was pronounced dead upon arrival at Mtengo waminga health centre.
The other police officer is said to be in critical condition and has been referred to Kamuzu Central Hospital in the capital Lilongwe.
Meanwhile the other two police officers escaped with broken legs and arms.
