President Peter Mutharika no longer considers himself to be in tight race for 2019 presidency  which he described as ‘mine’ since the main opposition, Malawi Congress party (MCP) has been sold to businessman, Sidik Mia.

Speaking to masses, including his Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) members and officials at Biwi Triangle in Lilongwe, Mutharika described the DPP as the last party standing saying MCP has been sold out to a “businessman from Chikhwawa.”

Mutharika appears to be very comfortable as he saw what he was afraid of being belittled before his eyes and then he proudly said whatever left of MCP was had been sold out at a MK 200 million price the same way Jesus Christ was sold by Judas.

” MCP leadership is now under the armpits of a business man from Chikhwawa, and PP’s [Peoples Party] leader left the country for America a very long time ago. DPP is now officially the last standing party ahead of the forthcoming 2019 polls.”

And the tense was assuaged between him and his Vice President, Dr. Saulos Chilima, as he knew without Chilima, DPP is likely to have difficulties to win in 2019 so he said;

“You are my son; don’t listen to what people say.”
